Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital Expands Services and Capacity
Hospital extending capacity to 145 beds by July, 2024.
Marysville, WA, June 1, 2024 – With mental health and substance abuse at crisis levels in Washington, Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital has added 30 new inpatient beds to meet this critical need. As one of the largest freestanding psychiatric hospitals in Washington, Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, now with 145 beds, will continue to offer a full continuum of behavioral services to adolescents, ages 13 – 17 years and adults.
Conveniently located less than one hour north of Seattle, in Snohomish County, Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital opened in 2017 and treats over 4,000 patients each year. “We are excited to announce the expansion of services that will allow us to treat more patients. In particular, we are increasing our adolescent units to include 45 beds,” says Austin Martin, CEO of Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital. “Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital has served the community for seven years by providing a full continuum of specialized services to all patients, regardless of ability to pay.”
A separate addition was built to allow Smokey Point Behavioral to treat more patients in specialized programs including dual diagnosis, detoxification, adolescent, women’s and adult programs. Smokey Point is also expanding outpatient hospital programming to strengthen the continuum of care with Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP’s), and support groups for adolescents and adults struggling with mental health and substance use disorder.
Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital offers assessments free of charge and individuals can be admitted directly into the programs or referred. Information is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 360-651-6400.
